ANJA MOHN - Mixed Media Artist
single channel video, looped, 4:30 min

The video uses layering technique to combine three strands of images:
A slow moving series of seascapes is the underlying rhythmic sequence. Superimposed on this basic layer is a collection of city daily life impressions (moving and still images) randomly shot with a cell phone camera; and a third strand, the repeated movement of a hand forming a clay marble.
The different strands are superimposed in waveform in two separate processes; different images appear at a time, while others disappear and become invisible behind a higher leading wave, often reduced to shadows that remove themselves from perception, and often can be guessed more than be seen.
